Worship at The Connection is the way we connect with the power and  Holy Spirit of God and Christ Jesus.  Our worship team musicians use dynamic music in a variety of styles and our congregation lifts their heart, hands, and voice to God in active participation.

We are blessed with a talented team of volunteer instrumentalists, vocalists, and technicians who, with God’s help, make worship come alive every week.  Worship is led by The Connection Band and vocal line. The band currently has a set of core members who regularly serve in Sunday Worship.  Currently, our instrumentalists are  Cathy Connoley on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Den Dixon on electric guitar, Robert Fitz on congas and bongos, Gil Harris on drums, Nancy Higgins on bass guitar, Paige Laiben on keys and lead vocals.  We have a rotation schedule for the vocal line that includes Pebbles Farrar on vocals and tambourine, DeJuan Flowers, James Green, Jeff Israel, Lynn Ledbetter, Jeff Romine on the vocal line.

Our volunteer Tech Team plays a very important role in making worship an experience that focuses on God.  The team rotates in service on a schedule that we set in 6 week intervals.  Techs are needed for running our Media Shout Projection System, mixing and monitoring the sound board, and occasionally for taking video of worship and testimony.

The Connection Choir sings during Sunday worship for special occasions and is striving to increase in membership and in how often we sing.

Participation in the worship band requires audition.   We also have other opportunities to serve such as Celebrate Recovery Worship on Friday evenings, Youth Worship on 1^st Tuesday evenings of every month.  We also offer substituting for regular instrumentalists, and other special events.  Worship team rehearsals are mandatory for participation during Sunday worship.  They are normally held on Thursdays from 7 – 10 PM.

Participation in the choir is open and requires attendance at rehearsal, during warm up for worship, and during worship.  Rehearsal times are posted in the bulletin, and in the lobby information area.

Participation in the tech team for the sound board tech requires in-house training, attendance at Thursday rehearsal (normally 7 – 10 PM), and service during Sunday warm up from 9 AM through the end of 11AM Worship.

For the Media Shout Tech, in-house training is required, as well as participation during Sunday warm up from 9AM through the end of 11AM Worship.

Tech team opportunities are also available for Celebrate Recovery Worship Friday evenings, Youth Worship 1^st Tuesday evenings of the month, and other special events.

LESSONS

We offer lessons for youth at a reduced rate by skilled teachers.  We currently have teachers for acoustic guitar, piano/keyboard, and percussion/drum set.  We are seeking teachers for voice, electric guitar, bass guitar, and a piano/keyboard teacher for fall and winter 2010.  For additional information, contact Cathy Connoley at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
